Junk Removal in Yuma, AZ for Furniture, Cleanouts and Yard Debris

Junk removal in Yuma means a crew comes to your home, carries out what you don’t want and hauls it away in their truck. You don’t lift anything. Your call goes to a local company in our network that offers junk removal. Price is usually set by how much of the truck your load fills. A national cost guide puts the average at about $225 a load, and your exact price is confirmed on the call.

Have a big project and helpers to load it? A dumpster may cost less. See whether a dumpster or junk removal is cheaper for a side-by-side.

Want the junk gone without the lifting? Call (928) 296-5462. Calls are answered 24/7, and Spanish-speaking callers can get help in Spanish. Or ask for a junk removal quote by form.

What does full-service junk removal include?

Full-service junk removal includes the labor, the loading, the truck and the haul to a disposal or recycling site. You point, and the crew carries.

That’s the main thing you pay for. With a roll-off dumpster, you or your helpers do all the loading. With a crew, the workers go into the house, the garage or the yard and bring the items out to their truck.

Here is how a typical job goes.

  1. You call and describe the load. Say what the items are, how many there are and where they sit.
  2. You get a price. It’s usually based on how much truck space the load will take.
  3. The crew arrives and confirms the price. Ask them to confirm it before they start loading.
  4. They load and haul it away. Usable items, metal and trash may go to different places.

Ask on the call what the price covers. Some crews add charges for heavy items, extra workers or long drives. Stairs and tight hallways can add time too. A clear quote names every one of these up front.

What items can a junk removal crew take?

Most bulky household items, including furniture, appliances, mattresses, hot tubs, yard debris and estate contents. Confirm each item on the call.

Junk crews are built for things that are heavy or awkward to move. The list below covers common jobs. Tell the company exactly what you have, because rules for a few items depend on where the load goes.

A shed that’s still standing is a small teardown job. Ask whether the crew takes it down or only hauls the pieces. For a full building or a remodel, a 20-yard dumpster for demolition debris is often the better fit.

How much does junk removal cost in Yuma?

It depends mostly on how much of the truck your junk fills. Nationally, the average is about $225 a load, and most people pay $115 to $450.

Those are national figures from LawnStarter, updated December 27, 2025. The Yuma junk removal company pages we checked on 2026-11-01 didn’t list junk removal prices. So the figures here are national, not Yuma quotes. Your exact price is confirmed on the call.

The national truck-share table, from 1/8 of a truck up to a full load, is on our junk removal pricing comparison. Here’s what the same guide lists for single items and common jobs.

What changes the price of a junk pickup?

Volume comes first, then weight, labor and distance. The same guide lists these factors.

  • Volume and weight. A bigger load takes more truck space. Very heavy loads can cost more.
  • Labor. Oversized, heavy items need more hands and more time. Stairs add work too.
  • Refrigerant items. Fridges and AC units need special handling before disposal.
  • Distance. A long drive to the disposal site adds fuel cost.
  • Season. Nationally, the busiest months are March through October.

What should I ask before the crew starts?

Ask for the full price and what it includes. A short list of questions on the call saves surprises later.

  • Is the price for the truck space, the items or the time?
  • Are labor and the disposal charge included?
  • Is there a charge for heavy items, stairs or a hot tub?
  • What happens to the price if the load is bigger than I described?
  • Do I need to be home, or can someone else meet the crew?
  • What happens to items that still work?

Is a dumpster ever the better choice?

Yes, when you have several truckloads and people who can load them. A crew wins when the load is small or no one can lift.

A 10-yard dumpster holds about 3 pickup loads. In Yuma it typically runs about $260–$815 as of October 2026. That market figure usually covers about 7 days and 2 tons. A 15-yard sits between the 10 and the 20. Your exact price is confirmed on the call. For the full cost math, read dumpster or junk removal and which costs less.

How do I get ready for a junk pickup?

Sort what goes, set aside anything hazardous, clear a path and tell the company about heavy items before the crew arrives.

A little prep keeps the job shorter. Shorter jobs are easier to price.

  • Walk through first. Mark what stays and what goes. Tape or a sticky note on each piece works well.
  • Pull out keepsakes and papers. Check drawers, closets and pockets before the crew loads anything.
  • Set hazardous items apart. Paint, oil, chemicals and car batteries go in a separate spot. See what the crew won’t take.
  • Drain and unplug. Hot tubs, fridges and washers should be empty and disconnected.
  • Clear a path. Move cars, open gates and prop doors. Tell the company about stairs or narrow halls.
  • Plan for the heat. Yuma averages 118 days a year at or above 100°F. In summer, ask whether a morning time slot is open.
  • Check park or HOA rules. Some parks set work hours or gate access. Ask the manager before the crew comes.

What won’t a junk removal crew take?

Hazardous waste like paint, oil, chemicals, pesticides and asbestos usually stays out. So do lead-acid batteries, and tires need a separate plan.

These items have their own disposal rules in Arizona. The national cost guide says junk crews don’t take dangerous items. It lists asbestos, paint, fireworks, ammunition, pesticides, oil, fuel and medications.

  • Paint, oil and chemicals. These are household hazardous waste. Read why paint can’t go in a dumpster.
  • Car batteries. Arizona bans lead-acid batteries from landfills (A.R.S. 44-1322). Return them to a battery retailer. See car battery rules.
  • Tires. Arizona keeps waste tires out of landfills unless ADEQ approves it in the site plan (A.R.S. 44-1304). Ask the company whether it takes tires, or see what it costs to throw away tires.
  • Asbestos. Old flooring and ceiling texture can contain it. It has its own ADEQ rules. Read the asbestos section.
  • Fridges and AC units. These can usually go, with a plan. A federal rule (40 CFR 82.155) requires the refrigerant to be recovered first. Ask whether that’s included in the price.

The City of Yuma’s next free household hazardous waste drop-off is Saturday, November 14, 2026, 8 a.m. to noon. It’s at Public Works, 1473 S. 2nd Ave. It’s open to City of Yuma and Yuma County residents. It takes paint, oil, chemicals, most household batteries, electronics and up to 5 tires off the wheel. It doesn’t take lead-acid car batteries or business waste. Call Public Works at 928-373-4500 to confirm.

Where does the junk go in Yuma?

Usable items can be donated, metal can be recycled, and the rest goes to a landfill or a transfer station. Ask the company where your load goes.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office lists three sites for commercial, industrial or large loads. They are South Yuma County Landfill, Copper Mountain Landfill near Wellton and the Republic Services transfer station. See the Yuma landfills that take commercial loads for addresses and phone numbers.

The free county transfer sites, like the South County Transfer Station in Somerton and the North Gila Valley site, take household, non-commercial loads only. A hired crew’s load may count as commercial, so ask the company where it will take yours. You can still use the free sites yourself for anything you haul in your own truck. Read the rules at every county transfer site first.

Can I donate furniture before the crew comes?

Yes, and it can shrink your load. Pull out anything that still works before the crew arrives.

The national guide says charities may take beds, working appliances, furniture and gently used electronics. Call a local thrift shop or charity first to ask what it accepts and whether it picks up. You can also ask the junk removal company whether it sets usable items aside. Don’t assume it does. Ask on the call.

What happens to metal?

Metal can go to a scrap recycler instead of the landfill. SA Recycling at 3350 E. 32nd St takes scrap metal, per its business listing. We found no official page for it, so call ahead. See scrap metal in the Yuma dump guide.

Can junk removal help with a snowbird move-out?

Yes. A crew can clear out a seasonal home before you head north. Book it well before your travel date.

Winter visitors are a big part of life here. An ASU study estimated about 71,000 winter visitors in Yuma County. Among seasonal homeowners, 57% left in April and 34% arrived in October. (ASU, Yuma Winter Visitor Study, 2017–2018 Season, published February 2019. It’s older, but it’s the latest count we found.)

That makes spring a likely time for close-up cleanouts. You may be selling the lot, downsizing, or clearing out furniture you don’t want to store through the summer. A crew helps when the heavy pieces are more than you want to carry.

Ask on the call whether you need to be home for the pickup. If you’ll be gone, ask whether a neighbor or the park manager can meet the crew. For bigger close-ups, see snowbird and estate cleanout dumpsters. Foothills owners can read about dumpster rental and junk options in Fortuna Foothills.

What about mobile-home and RV-lot cleanouts?

Worn mattress, dresser and stacked patio chairs under a mobile-home carport

Mobile homes are common here, and tight lots can make a crew easier than a dumpster. Get the park’s rules before you book.

In Yuma County, 28.6% of housing units are mobile homes, against 9.3% statewide. The share is 47.4% in Fortuna Foothills and 48.7% in Wellton (U.S. Census, ACS 2020–2024). If your home sits on a small lot or in a park with narrow lanes, that can shape your choice.

A crew only needs room to park its truck while it loads. A dumpster has to sit on the lot for days. That can matter in a park with tight spaces or carports. Read RV park and mobile-home park placement if you’re weighing both.

Removing the mobile home itself is a different job. Ask about that separately. Wellton owners can see service in Wellton.

How does an estate cleanout work with a junk crew?

The family sorts first, keeping papers, photos and anything of value. Then the crew hauls the rest in one or more loads.

Estate cleanouts can fall on family members who live out of town. Some local towns skew older. The median age is 61.1 in Fortuna Foothills and 65.5 in Wellton (U.S. Census, ACS 2020–2024). When a parent moves to care or passes away, a house full of furniture needs to be cleared, often before a sale.

The national guide lists home or estate cleanouts at $625–$2,000, with larger estates up to $4,000. Those are national figures, not Yuma quotes. A packed house can take more than one truckload. For a big house with family on hand to load, compare it with a cleanout dumpster for estates.

Plan around the closing date. Book the crew once the family has walked the house and made its choices.

Can a crew clear monsoon storm debris?

Broken palm fronds and branches piled in a gravel front yard after a storm

Yes. Branches, brush and yard debris are common junk loads. Ask about palm fronds and very large limbs when you call.

Yuma’s monsoon season runs June 15 to September 30. September is the wettest month. Storms can bring strong winds that leave downed branches and broken patio furniture.

Palm fronds need a quick check. The Yuma Sun reported that the City’s temporary storm drop-off in September 2025 turned palm fronds away. Read what to do with palm fronds.

Nationally, the cost guide lists yard waste at $170–$375 and a post-storm yard cleanup at up to $1,125. Those are national figures. Tell the company how many trees or how much of the yard is involved.

The City’s free Neighborhood Cleanup takes limbs under 4 feet and 50 pounds. But it only runs part of the year, in 2026 from January 26 to early April. See whether the City’s bulky pickup can work for you.

How do landlords use junk removal for turnovers?

They book a crew for whatever the last tenant left, so the unit can be cleaned and listed sooner.

Rentals are a big share of local housing. Yuma County has 23,031 renter households, 29.0% of all households. In Yuma city it’s 13,003, or 33.2% (U.S. Census, ACS 2020–2024). Every empty day costs a landlord or property manager rent.

Left-behind items can include mattresses, couches and broken appliances. If a tenant left paint or tires, those need a separate plan. See what the crew won’t take.

Want a clear price for your turnover? Call (928) 296-5462. Ask for the price in writing. Ask whether you need to be on site, or whether the crew can work from your instructions. For several units at once, a 20-yard dumpster for multi-unit cleanouts may cost less.
